Seven Colours, Seven Themes,
One Radiant Fest

Why This Fest Is Special

This fest shines a spotlight on overlooked and underappreciated themes and genres, giving writers a chance to expand the fandom’s horizons with fresh and diverse fanfics beyond the typical classics.

How It Works

This fest features 7 themes/genres, with each story. Please fill the sign up form and stick to one theme of your choice when writing. The reveals week will take place the week after the posting week ends, giving readers plenty of time to guess the authors. (The 7 themes are explained below)

The Seven Hues of Imagination

Unreliable Narrator

Stories are told from the perspective of an unreliable narrator. This could mean outright lies, misinterpretations, or selective omissions.example: Fight Club

Dream Logic

Stories take place in dreamlike, surreal settings where logic doesn’t always apply. The writer has to balance strangeness and emotional depth.example: Spirited Away

Break the Fourth Wall

Characters become aware of their status as fictional beings and interact with the “real world” or the author/reader.examples: W, The truman show, extraordinary you

lost communication

Stories revolve around letters, messages, or attempts at communication that were intercepted, delayed, or never delivered. The truth is uncovered years later, revealing what could have been.example: The notebook

Invisible Hand

The fic is written from the POV of an unnoticed observer—an animal, object, ghost, or simply anything you prefer. This perspective may subtly influence the events of the story.example: inside out

One Night Only

The entire fic must take place over the span of a single night (or day). The writer is forced to create tension and resolve it within a tight timeframe.example: phone booth (2002)

Before the Beginning / Backstory

Focus on the backstory or events leading up to the main timeline/ present events.example: titanic
